As of yesterday Kaspersky Labs have begun the process of rolling out their free antivirus globally, with North America being in the first batch. The CEO of Kaspersky Labs, Eugene Kaspersky, has come forward stating that the free version of Kaspersky's popular AV solutions will include "all the basics" and "will not have ads period". As per usual with most AV solutions today your anonymous scan data will be shared with Kaspersky in order to improve their engine across the board. What do you guys think? Does this release finally make the point of Windows Defender moot (in most cases)?
