Nexus 6 components in similarly sized phone housing & LCD

 So my Nexus 6's screen is entirely nonfunctional, but the replacement screens are $ 100- $ 150ish. I was wondering if I could not remove the motherboard, flex cable, & misc. guts from the cracked Nexus 6, then fit it all into a cheaper inch LCD phone housing?
